Shipping and packaging Instructions

< back

You will need to provide shipping labels for both directions. The return label, which will be placed inside the box, will require some additional calculation. Read on.

  1. Number each 50', 200' or 400' film box or container, in the order in which you wish them to be recorded, if that matters to you.

  2. Prepackage and seal the films in a plastic bag to protect from moisture and dust.

  3. Also use bubble wrap or other cushioning materials to protect from damage.

  4. Place them in a box, large enough to hold the original films plus the additional media that will be coming back to you on the return trip.

  5. Leave the box unsealed for the time being, until you can bring it to UPS, USPS or Fedex to have it weighed and a shipping label produced for both directions. Tell the clerk to add additional weight for the return label cost.
I also recommend that you place insurance on your package for both directions, in case the films are lost of damaged or stolen. I know that it is hard to place a value on the films because they are likely to be priceless family treasures.
(See below to determine additional weight (New media) and also to help you size your shipping box)

  6. Place the return label inside the box with your check for payment for the services. Once everything is calculated and enclosed, seal the box.

  7. My shipping address:

Brian H Stoddard
Creative Business Media
502 N 8th, #28, POB1402
Philomath, OR 97370

If is is going through the US Postal Service, the address would be

Brian H Stoddard
PO Box 1402
Philomath, OR 97370

New media weight and size

  1. If you are sending 50' film reels, I will be splicing the film from (8) 50' reels onto one  new 400' film reel.

  2. Note: 200' and 400' reels will not be placed on larger reels.
I will simply replace the leader with a new leader to prevent projector jams.

  3. The original empty reels and boxes will be returned to you in the same shipping box.

  4. You will receive (1) 1 hour DVD per approximately 800 feet of film, that is the contents of (16) 50' film reels.

  5. Each 400' reel with protective cover, without the film weighs 5oz.  (size: diameter 7 in. x thickness .8 in.)
