Resize and convert (freeware) http://www.imageresizer.com/download.php
"This powerful utility can do two things: it can change the size of a picture (including smooth resize) and it can convert pictures from one graphic format to another. The important thing: the program does all that in batch mode, which means only one click for you! The program supports JPG, GIF and BMP file formats."

Instructions from Brian:
a. Before you resize, create a new folder under "my pictures". Name the
folder "change". That way they will be easy to find.
b. Open "change" and drag the digital photos, that you want resized into
the new folder called "change".
c. Once you start the program, Mihov IR, double click on each of the following:
C:, Documents and Settings, administrator, my documents, my pictures, ...then
click on the folder named "change".
d. Select the type of file "jpg" (top right window),
e. change the size to 600 pixels (or any size that you want, if 600 isn't right
for your purposes.
f. Select all or one of the files that you want resized by highlighting
the jpgs with your mouse.
g. Then click "resize" in the program.
h. A new file will be created with "mini-" before the original name in
the same folder ("change"). As an
example, let's say your file had the name "bengal", the new file will be "mini-bengal".
This way, your original file remains intact.
The new mini file will be substantially smaller and should be good for emailing.
